Licorice root, or Glycyrrhiza glabra, is native to Asia and Europe and has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Egyptian tea as a cure-all concoction. The extract is used to soothe gastrointestinal issues, reduce inflammation and treat respiratory illnesses. It can also help adrenal glands which often suffer exhaustion due to the continual production of adrenaline and cortisol in stressful times.
