Opies Pickled Walnuts sweet & tangy in Spiced Malt Vinegar are a quintessentially English Pickle traditionally used as accompaniment to cold meats and cheeses but delicious added to meat pies and casseroles.
Of all pickles produced by Opies, these Pickled Walnuts are probably the most popular and world-renowned as an English delicacy. Opies walnuts are harvested before the shell forms whilst they are still green which is generally in June. They are cooked and marinated in a secret spiced malt vinegar recipe and then they are hand packed into jars to ensure they are as perfect as possible when you open them.
A traditional Victorian pickle mentioned by Dickens, perfect as an accompaniment or as an ingredient. Just imagine home made meat pies with port and walnuts or a potato, mushroom and walnut salad.

Walnuts, sugar, water, distilled Barley Malt vinegar, Salt, Acidity regulator: Acetic acid, Barley malt extract, natural flavouring.
